We will visit the magnificent Winchester cathedral and its Close and see the ancient College, founded in 1382 before contemplating King Arthur’s Round Table. Soon we slip down to the coast to Portsmouth Harbour and see Admiral Nelson’s flagship, HMS Victory, and compare it to the wonders of an earlier flagship – Henry VIII’s Mary Rose, which foundered just outside the harbour in 1545, almost within sight of the 19th Century warship, HMS Warrior, moored near Victory.
